How to Research Salaries Before a Job Interview in Bangladesh

Salary negotiation is the highest-ROI conversation of your career — and preparation decides it. Here is how to use Bangladesh's salary data before your next interview.

1. Find your role's real range

On Beton Kemon, search your job title and compare across companies. Note the spread: entry-level vs experienced, Dhaka vs Chattogram vs remote, local firms vs multinationals. Your target number should sit in the upper-middle of the realistic range for your profile.

2. Research the specific company

Company reviews reveal what numbers alone do not: how often raises happen, whether bonuses are real, and how the company reacts to negotiation. A company that "never negotiates" per multiple reviews needs a different strategy than one known for flexibility.

3. Prepare your anchor

When asked for expectations, anchor with data: "Based on market data for this role in Dhaka, the range is X–Y, and given my experience with [skill], I'm targeting Z." Data-backed anchors are harder to dismiss than feelings.

4. Know your walk-away number

Decide beforehand the minimum you will accept. Salary data helps here too — if the company's range sits below your walk-away, you save everyone time.

5. Contribute back

After you land the role, post your salary anonymously. The dataset only stays useful if people keep feeding it. Back to the Beton Kemon guide.
